Church Distinctives
What makes us unique?
As a local church body, we meet on Sundays, where we gather for a time of worship and discussion followed by fellowship and food. We believe we are here to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where everyone can experience community. Our discussions are designed to provoke thought and provide a space for meaningful conversations and deeper connections.
We meet at a beautiful vineyard, gathering around tables that invite conversation and connection. The serene surroundings and the shared space create a perfect setting for our church community to come together, grow and fellowship.
Our teaching style is deeply rooted in the Bible, with a strong emphasis on Scripture. We focus on exploring and understanding the Word of God, ensuring that the teachings are both meaningful and relevant to our daily lives.
Our worship services blend contemporary and classical elements, creating a rich and diverse experience. This combination allows us to honor timeless traditions while also embracing modern expressions of faith, ensuring that our worship is both meaningful and reflective for everyone.
Beyond Sundays, we stay connected, supporting each other and fostering a sense of community that extends and influences our individual spheres of relationships throughout the week.
Born out of the isolation that COVID brought in 2020, we started as a Bible and Brunch fellowship to meet the need for physical and spiritual connection temporarily during the “shut down”. As the fellowship grew and continued, we transitioned the name of our gathering in 2022 to 7 Creeks Church to signify the recognition that we had become a local church. At the end of 2023, we were led to file our non-profit paperwork to acknowledge the existence of a ministry larger than ourselves and named it 7 Creeks Church to signify the roots of where we came from and the significance that is held in John 15:5.
As we grow, we will prayerfully consider these elements that drew us together and brought us to this point. With the Holy Spirit as our guide, the following Core Values exist for the current vision and mission God has given us.
Core Values
1. We are a relational body.
7 Creeks Church is built on the foundation of relationships. First and foremost, of all is our relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ. It is that relationship that is at the very center of our existence as a church; without it we simply would not exist. Next is our relationship with others in our body. This takes on at least three forms: the kinship we share in Christ (we are brothers and sisters in Him), the service we perform to and for each other, and the service we perform together to God. In all these forms we strive for unity with each other and unity in our purpose and service. Finally, there is our relationship with those outside our body. This is perhaps best summed up by the second core value derived from our purpose statement.
2. We have an abiding commitment to the Great Commission.
While our relationships are the basis of our existence, our commitment to the Great Commission is the reason for our existence. Everything we say and do as a church must be done with the thought of fulfilling the Great Commission in mind. We are here to reach people – inside our body and outside our body – with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and see His reality replicated in them.
3. We believe in a strong teaching of the Word of God.
The Bible is our instruction book and the foundation of all Christian experience. We are committed to standing on Biblical truth and nothing else as we evaluate the world around us. We cannot experience growth apart from solid biblical truth.
4. We believe in Christian education, teaching, fellowship, and worship that
encourages our service to God and others.
Our goal is to equip people with truth for living. As we build on the foundation of biblical truth, we must do so in a way that enables people to minister effectively for God in their spheres of influence.
5. We believe in building strong families.
The family was the first institution created by God and therefore has a special place with Him. The Biblical family is also coming under increasing attack and is therefore the first sphere of influence where our people need to apply practical Biblical truth. We actively assist the members of our body in every way possible in this endeavor.
6. We are here to serve and influence the communities in which we live.
Each of us lives in a different community or sphere of influence – whether it is our neighborhood, the office where we work, or our circle of friends and extended family – each of us is part of a unique community that only we can reach. God has called us to be salt and light where we are, and we must equip our body with the message of salvation and encourage our members to share that message in word and deed.
7. We actively involve our people in the task of world evangelization.
Our ministry for Christ must extend beyond our immediate communities and cities to the entire world. The Great Commission speaks of discipling “all the nations,” and we take that seriously and literally. We want to see every member of our body involved in a tangible way in the task of reaching the world for Christ – through praying, giving, serving, and/or going.
8. We work through issues and conflicts openly and honestly.
In any relationship, no matter how good, conflicts are bound to arise. When they do, we want to ensure that we handle them quickly and biblically lest they plant the seeds of bitterness that can divide our body. Therefore, we are clear, honest, and open communication on all issues. We are called to walk in forgiveness, bearing with one another in love and the pursuit of that in a timely manner as an act of obedience led by the Spirit.
9. We will minister on the basis of grace.
As we measure ourselves and our ministries against God’s Biblical standards, we realize that we frequently fall short of the mark. Were it not for God’s grace we could not even “press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called [us].” - Phil. 3:14. Therefore we will strive to be gracious to each other in thought, word, and deed.
